On March 22 the Syntax Gallery presented Natalia Struchkova's exhibition “The Descent of Styrene”.
A contemporary artist is counted, weighed, inscribed in context, poured into a colorless poisonous plastic monolith, into styrene, and offered for sale like a Mesozoic spider in amber - and that is the way our show-business works. On the shelves of the art market, there is a fight between artists-designers, artists-directors, artists-engineers, artists-actors and even artists-artists (like crossopterygian fish) - the list is long, but not endless. Natasha Struchkova is defined as an "artist-builder" - she does not paint her canvases but builds them.
